Bomb- Proof Wallpaper

Posted by Ali on 11:09 AM

Known as the world’s toughest wallpaper, X-Flex is a new type of wallpaper that is easily stronger then most building walls upon which it resides. Developed by Berry Plastics and the US Army Corps of Engineers, X-Flex can be used in any area prone to blast damage including national airports and chemical plants. In fact, the US military is seriously looking at redecorating military bases with this wallpaper to protect military personnel stationed at army bases overseas.

The strength of X-Flex comes from it’s building material which is Kevlar-tye sheets that are sandwiched between a layer of elastic polymer wrap. Application of the protective sheets couldn’t be easier and consists of removing the sticky backs and rolling it onto the wall while fastening the edges. An entire room can be done in under an hour.

The Rotobotmouse

Posted by Ali on 10:54 AM

Everyone has their own personal spin on what a steampunk mouse should look like. It’s definitely better than staring at the same old ideas all of the time. Where most steampunk gadgets look extremely old, more of the 1920’s range, this one almost looks like it belongs in the 50’s. Although it might not appeal to some steampunk enthusiasts, if you’re looking for something different this is it. The odd coil on the side of the mouse is where you slip your pinky through. Then you can pretty much guess how the rest of the buttons work. Don’t worry, it is an optical mouse.

Cyber Technology's Hovering Drone

Posted by Ali on 8:41 AM

Here is a little kit of the Cyber Quad vertical take-off drone from an Australian company called Cyber Technology.

As you can see, the main flying unit has four ducted fans that provide plenty of lift to keep this Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). It can keep hovering, and even film things while in the air. Yeah, I’m sure you probably saw that tiny camera on the front and figured out exactly what this thing is designed to do.

The company tried it out on a damaged oil platform, and it used a scanner to detect chemical leaks. In fact, it can “perch and stare” for hours on end. I wonder how still the footage is.

I’m guessing that the controls there are like those of a remote control toy helicopter, and those glasses are designed to be a viewer with a virtual sight. It looks like there is some sort of portable hand-held viewer all the way on the left side.

The Ring Wall Is World Largest's Touch Screen

Posted by Ali on 8:29 AM

The particular touchscreen is 18 feet x 4 feet, but the Ring Wall in Nurburg, Germany is 45 meters long and two meters high. It has 15 high definition projectors for up to 34.5 million pixels worth of display. Nice!

So, what can we put on this Ring Wall touchscreen? How about anything we want! Just think, I could probably fit all the icons for every iPhone app! I’ve included a video of the Ring Wall after the jump so you can see it for yourself.

Believe it or not, atop the giant screen is an even larger LED wall that is 400 square meters in its size. That’s pretty cool, too. I’m just not certain why Sensory Minds decided to call their colossus of a touchscreen the Ring Wall.

Speaker Bot Plays Your MP3 Player

Posted by Ali on 8:07 AM

Despite all of the conspiracy theories that robots will someday take over the world, you can’t help but love this robot. He’s completely harmless, all he does is play your favorite music all day long. He may have a permanently goofy expression on his face, but at least he has his uses. Plus he’s made out of new and old parts, which means you’d be giving new use for old discarded electronics.

These robots ship out worldwide and are assembled in New York by Lipson Robotics. In order to power the speaker, you can use the power adapter and plug it into the wall, use batteries or plug it into the USB port on your computer. He even comes branded with a metal nameplate to declare the robots origins (Lipson Robotics).

4GB Spy CMOS Camera Cap With Remote Control

Posted by Ali on 7:58 AM

You may have seen the very expensive baseball cap with a built-in camera and a hand held digital monitor. That device would be ideal, however, if you’re on a remotely strict budget, you might want to get this hat instead. It has all of those lovable spying capabilities, but won’t leave you completely penniless. Of course the hat itself is slightly more odd looking, so it helps if you’re not too concerned about looking fashionable.

The camera cap does come with a handy little remote control. That remote keeps things simple, which means you could easily operate it without ever having to pull it from your pocket. The hat itself has 4GB of memory already built into it. It also has a motion sensor that you could utilize. In order to keep it powered, it has an internal rechargeable Li-Battery.

24-Port USB Hub

Posted by Ali on 7:32 AM

If you have USB devices coming out of your ears, then you might need a hub to help you out with that. This hub manages to keep a full 24 ports available for you to jam your USB related items into. For the average person you might have to get extremely creative in order to fill up all of those ports. However, I’m sure there are others out there that are fully capable of finding a use for a hub of this size.

The hub comes in only the color sequence seen here. It keeps things pretty basic, it doesn’t have any flashing lights or come in a silly shape. Instead it just makes sure that you’ll never have to buy another hub again. Just plug it into your computer and it’ll be ready to go.

Spillarium Does Not Spill Of Fish

Posted by Ali on 7:26 AM

The Spillarium is a hybrid home ornament that spills water but not your precious live fish within – making it more than a half-decent home decorative fixture that will definitely have guests over puzzle it out, thanks to the wonders of optical illusion.

Water cascades from the side of the bowl – creating the illusion of an aquarium that’s perilously losing water – into the koi goldfish base, and back into the aquarium. A filter at the spout prevents daredevil fish from plunging over the falls. An integrated pump continuously cycles water through a sponge and charcoal filtration system and helps maintain the proper water level inside the aquarium. LED lights in the base cast a warm, colorful glow throughout the bowl. The five-gallon aquarium accommodates up to five fish. Includes artificial fish and plants, a fish net, cleaning brush, and fish food. Plugs into AC.

Palm -Sized DVD Player

Posted by Ali on 7:14 AM

Tiny screens to watch your DVDs on are nothing new. Many cars come with them packed into them to keep the kids in the backseat entertained. Well this one is a palm sized one for you to carry around. It’s definitely smaller than having to carry around your laptop in order to watch a DVD while you’re trying to kill some time somewhere. Whether or not you’d prefer a larger screen and sacrifice lightweight portability is of course a personal preference issue though.

This DVD player has built-in speakers, as well as coming with a pair of earbuds to discreetly listen to the DVD. It also has an anti-skip feature to make it possible to watch your favorite DVDs when your ride isn’t exactly smooth. The TFT LCD screen measures 3 and ½ inches. It also has an integrated stand that adjusts for multiple viewing angles. There’s a USB port and memory card slot so you can view pictures or video from your computer or camera. The rechargeable battery pack will last 2 hours on a 3 hour charge. In order to charge it you’ll have to use the AC adapter.
